Just one game day before the end of Eurobasket 2013 qualifying round, traditional European powerhouse Serbia lost in Estonia and needs a home win against Israel in order to be in Slovenia. Meanwhile Georgia got its ticket to the final round

Serbia can still be a part of Eurobasket 2013, however nobody on the team will remember this Saturday night and smile. If Dusan Ivkovic’s players had won in Estonia, then their mission would be already accomplished, but after losing a close game by 88-81, they are in danger. Now their goal is simple. They have to win against Israel on Tuesday at Belgrade in order to qualify, or else they will be in trouble if Estonia beats Iceland.

The only team that punched its ticket for Slovenia on Saturday was Georgia of NBAer Zaza Pachulia (photo) after beating Latvia 73-70. Vladimir Dasic scored 38 points for unbeatable Montenegro against Iceland (101-92) and Israeli Lior Eliahu had a triple double (18 p., 10 r., 12 as.) against Slovak Republic (106-73).

The first two teams of each group and the four best third placed teams will qualify for Eurobasket 2013. The host country Slovenia, France, FYROM, Great Britain, Greece, Lithuania, Russia and Spain have already qualify to the competition.
