Jason Kapono is out from PAO BC. At least that’s what he wants and asked before today’s game against KAOD. The American sharp shooter is not expected to finish the season in Greece, as he appeares to be irritated by his lack of minutes in Euroleague and in the Greek league. This is more than truth, since he wasn’t used not even for a second in the last game against Anadolu Efes.
Coach Argiris Pedoulakis didn’t use him much and his defensive instability was the reason. On the other hand, despite the problems with his wife’s pregnacy, Kapono was persuaded to travel from the US in order to play basketbal in Europe, but things didn’t work out the way he was expected. His limited role in Panathinaikos’ rotation was the reason behind his demand to return home. Until this point he had 16 mpg in eight games with 7,4 points and 46,2% percentage in three pointers in Euroleague.
UPDATE: Panathinaikos officially confirmed Kapono’s request.
