Having so far 5,4 ppg, shooting just 22,7% in threes and 5 asp, combined with 3 tpg, Milos Teodosic’s start in the season is mediocre at best. It’s not a secret that Fenerbahce/ Ulker tried to get him – despite CSKA Moscow’s official denials – and the question his team has to answer at this point is what role will he be given this season, the last of his contract with the club.
So far, his highlight was the exhibition game against Minnesota in the States. After that game coach Messina underlined that he used Teodosic as a shooting guard, but this is not his current role in CSKA.
In fact after the first five Euroleague games his role seems to be diminishing, having been used just for 13,5 minutes in last week’s blow out win over Partizan, having no point on 0/3 three point shots, 3 assists and also 2 turnovers. Tonight’s game against Nanterre will be one more sign of things to come, since Teodosic with 25 mpg is only second to Vladimir Micov between CSKA’s players in minutes spend on the court, something natural since he is the only clear cut point guard of the team. So will Messina give him his usual minutes in a relatively easy game against Nanterre, or things have changed for good? We will know in a few hours…
