After consecutive four defeats in the Liga Endesa, CAI Zaragoza finally caught a break by winning Joventut Badalona, 94 – 83. It was a match that was, more or less, decided by mainly by two aspects: A) The second quarter in which Zaragoza turned the tables in its favor after a sloppy start in the game, and B) Tomas Bellas’ performance in it.

The Spanish point guard scored 15 out of his team’s 31 points in the second period, helping Zaragoza go to the locker rooms with a much important 46 – 39 lead. He continued providing for his squad, finishing the match with 22 points, 6 assists plus 8 fouls won for a total of 33 ranking points. More than anyone in this Week for Liga Endesa.

“This recognition also speaks for the general improvement of CAI Zaragoza”, Bellas said. “Hopefully we can recover our winning track from now on.”

This is the second time in the career of the 28 year old player that he earns Weekly MVP honors. “Of course I am very happy for it. But I’m also happy for the team victory, the work of my teammates and the support of the fans that has been rewarded”.
