FC Barcelona Lassa dominated Real Madrid after winning 94 – 72 in their second clash in the ACB. After losing by 27 points in the EuroLeague “Clasico”, Svetislav Pesic’s team took the revenge. The Copa del Rey MVP Thomas Heurtel paced Barca with 21 points and 4 assists.

Pierre Oriola also contributed to the victory with 17 points while Rudy Fernandez led Real Madrid in scoring with 11.

Madrid missed Luka Doncic this time and the Spanish league leaders had their lowest scoring numbers in the season. Victor Claver was the “X-Factor” with Rakim Sanders, Kevin Seraphin and Adam Hanga injured and missing for the hosts.

Barcelona was leading 30 – 27 (16′) but an incredible run turned it into a 54 – 29 advantage 8 minutes later. During the third quarter Real found in free throws a way to cut the lead -15 of their 17 points came from the stripe- but Barca shot lights out from beyond the arc (10/21, missed the last 6).

During the last quarter, the Catalans dedicated to expanding the difference. The winners improved to a 15-7 record, still four wins under Madrid. Over the day, Baskonia got an easy road win over Juventut Badalona, while Valencia Basket and Unicaja got comfortable wins over Bilbao and Gipuzkoa respectively, with Unicaja‘s Nedovic being named the MVP of the day.
