FC Barcelona Lassa suffered more than expected but finally defeated San Pablo Burgos 103 – 101 in one of the games of the season.
A heroic Thomas Heurtel paced the winners with 26 points and 13 assists for 37 index rating. Ante Tomic also contributed with 21 points and 8 boards. Sebas Saiz and Javi Vega led Burgos in scoring with 18 each.
During overtime, Goran Husic had the chance to put Burgos back in front (100 – 99) but he missed an open layup in the last minute. Later on, Edwin Jackson gave Barcelona the win with a jump shot.
Svetislav Pesic’s team was in control of the game winning by double digits in the first (20 – 9, 8′). Burgos reacted after a timeout scoring 16 consecutive points and turned things upside down. The hosts reached their biggest lead of the game right before the half (35 – 50, 20′).
After receiving 35 points in the second quarter, Barca improved considerably in defense. The hosts were leading by double-digits almost the entire second period but the “Blaugranas” managed to tie the game thanks to a late 14 – 2 run (89 – 89, 40′). Corey Fisher had the chance to win the game in regulation but he missed.
Early today, Baskonia smashed Gran Canaria and continues strong. Also, Valencia Basket dominated Iberostar Tenerife while Montakit Fuenlabrada surprised Unicaja in Malaga. Over the weekend, Felipe Reyes became the sixth top scorer in ACB in Real Madrid’s win over Zaragoza.
