A Panathinaikos fan left a comment on a post Giannakopoulos made on his Instagram profile asking him to unite the Greens and that the team is above all.

“Come around to your senses Dimitris. Panathinaikos is above everyone, even you. Unite the team in order to win the Greek League after the Cup”, wrote the fan.

Giannakopoulos, who doesn’t usually answer to fans, gave him a response. “Considering the decisions I made, don’t you see that I put the opinion of the fans above mine? If I didn’t consider you I’d cut their [four players] basketball careers short for not complying with the decision to return on a bus”, were the words of Panathinaikos’ owner.
