Finally a victory Brose Bamberg in the BBL after suffering against Giessen 46ers 105 – 96 on the road. The visiting side got its 12th win after an overtime in 22 games in the German league. Ricky Hickman and Daniel Hackett combined for 50 points. Dorrell Wright added 18 points and 12 boards.
After struggling during the first during the first quarter (16 – 21), Ilias Kantzouris’ men reacted and it seemed that they were in control of the game (67 – 55), but nothing could be further from the truth.
Austin Hollins (24 points) led Giessen’s comeback and the game was tied at 74 with 3 minutes left. On the last play, Darwin Davis forced a foul while shooting from three and forced overtime. Bamberg dominated the overtime and escaped with the win.
Over the weekend, the German Cup Champions extended their winning streak. Bayern defeated Ludwigsburg in an easy game with Devin Booker pacing the winners. Also, Alba Berlin smashed Medi Bayreuth.
