You don’t usually find high-scoring “friendly” prep games but that was the opposite in Israel’s victory over Finland.

Indeed. The two outfits gave quite a show to the fans gathered to see the game in St. Petersburg Russia. In the end, the Israeli team prevailed 97 – 92 behind 18 points and five assists by Gal Mekel.

The highlight for Finland was, of course, Lauri Markkanen. The Bulls forward/center had a more than solid display with an 18 points team-high plus six rebounds. Gerald Lee scored 16 and Tuukka Kotti nine for a Petteri Koponen-less Finnish squad.

As for the winning squad, Rich Howell looked fine with 14 points and 8 rebounds while Lior Eliyahu had a diverse output of 12 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
