Russia remained unbeaten in this Eurobasket and improved to a 3-0 record by beating Belgium (76-67) fell to a 1-2 record.

Belgium started the game off with a 13-6 run, which was also the largest deficit Russia has faced in this Eurobasket. After a close first half, Russia attacked the paint and made key three-point shots that increased their lead to six points (43-37, 26΄). Belgium couldn’t recover after that. In the fourth quarter, Russia pulled away and got their third straight victory.

The star: Alexey Shved was the man of the match as he finished with 20 points and 6 assists and 6 rebounds. Timofey Mozgov was also spectacular to watch as well, with highlight plays on both sides of the court. He finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

The key: Russia’s defense, experience and Alexey Shved’s all around great performance made the difference for Russia. Belgium had to take tough shots against great defenders, while on the offensive side of the court Shved made tough shots and also facilitated the offense for his team.

Not enough: Maxim De Zeeuw for the Belgians was the top scorer of his team with 15 points.
