Germany defeated Italy 61-55 and now is one step closer to making it to the next round, depending on the remaining results of Group B,  having a 3-1 record.

On the other hand, Italy with a 2-2 record will have to fight until the very end for a ticket to Istanbul.

The star: Once again Dennis Schroder, who finished the game with 17 points. In a low scoring affair, his performance was more than enough.

Turning point: Even though both teams went to the lockers with a perfect balance (29-29 at 20′), Germany kept the upper hand in the second half, with a slow-paced game even if Italy managed to get into striking distance. However, Italy also couldn’t get the lead or at least a tie. At 36′, Schroder stepped up to give his team a +9 advantage (47-56). With less than 2 minutes to go, Fleming’s team had established a 10-point lead.

Key players: Apart from the NBA star, Johannes Voigtmann was a major contributor to this win for Germany, with 12 points, 7 boards and 5 assists. For Italy, Ariel Filloy had 15 points, as Marco Belinelli finished with 12 points.
