One more coaching icon, Bogdan Tanjevic, decided to step down from the benches, as it was announced today.

The basketball federation of Montenegro confirmed via a press release that Tanjevic who was the national team coach of the country since 2015 decided to retire after a 46 career in basketball coaching, but he will remain a technical advisor of the federation.

Tanjevic led Montenegro for the first time in the round of 16 during Eurobasket 2017, the biggest success in the history of the Montenegrin national team.

He has won the Eurobasket in 1999 as the head coach of Italy. He has also coached the Turkish national team to the silver medal at the 2010 FIBA World Cup. He sat on the bench of many top European clubs in Italy, Turkey, France, and Montenegro, winning domestic titles in all those countries, and back in 1979, he has won the EuroLeague, then called European Champions Cup, with Bosna Sarajevo.
