Simpson (2.03 meters, 29 years old) arrives from Czech club CEZ Nymburk, where he averaged 8.5 points on 60.9% shooting, 5.5 rebounds and 1.1 blocks over 14 games this season. He has previously played three seasons in Israel, two with Nes Ziona and one with Maccabi Ashdod. Simpson ranked fourth in the Israeli League in scoring in the 2013-14 season with 16.8 points per game for Nes Ziona.

He has also played for Estudiantes Madrid in Spain, Adelaide in Australia, Turk Telekom Ankara in Turkey and Alaska in the Philippines. Simpson is expected to play immediately to help with a front court that has been without injured Joe Alexander for a few weeks and might not have two more forwards, Devin Smith and Quincy Miller, to host Olympiacos Piraeus on Thursday, also due to injury.
