Westermann, who will be moving to CSKA Moscow next season, was one of the key players for Zalgiris this season, both in Euroleague and the Lithuanian league, while he also reached the LKL championship with the team a few days prior with the team.
Here is what he wrote on his farewell note:
“Coming out from a difficult season in France, Zalgiris offered me the possibility to touch the high level of European basketball . I’ll be always thankful for the opportunity this club gave me. I’m really grateful to have been a member of this great organisation. This team is surrounded by great people it’s why Zalgiris will continu to evolve and grow more and more in the future . Huge thanks to my teammates, coaches, staff and the peoples of Kaunas I enjoyed every moments in Lithuania . AČIU”
