Panathinaikos has “locked” Chris Singleton from the competition in Europe. however things are quite different in the case that an NBA team is interested on him.

The American forward who was one of the EuroLeague stand-outs, has also an NBA buy out clause on his contract that can be used until the 20th of July.

There’s no other way to break his contract and Panathinaikos expects to keep him next season. The good news for the Greens is that he does like living in Greece and the notorious Istanbul to Athens bus trip after losing to Fenerbahce is forgotten thanks to winning the domestic league title against arch-rival Olympiacos.

That, of course, does not mean that the NBA can’t lure back Singleton. The point is that the former player of the Washington Wizards – who was the 18th pick of the 2011 draft – doesn’t just want to return to the States, but also to find the right opportunity for him if he decides to leave.

That’s why in Athens they believe that they will have them on their roster next season. However they will not be certain until the 21st of July.
