Slaughter testified that Real Madrid gave him the fake passport

Marcus Slaughter has been summoned by a Spanish judge along with Andy Panko, to testify for the case of their falsified Equatorial Guinea passports this month. And today, Slaughter acknowledged before the judge that his false Cotonou passport was given to him by Real Madrid.

Slaughter had said that he paid 35,000 euros to his agent Julian Aranda, in order to acquire the Cotonou passport that would allow him to play in Liga Endesa without occupying a foreign player’s spot. The American center stated he didn’t know anything about the process until “someone” from Real Madrid gave him the passport.

According to El Independiente, Slaughter then testified that it was a highly ranked Real Madrid official who delivered the necessary documents to the legal services of the club and it was only after this step that the passport was handed to him.

Usually, the ACB procedure is that the player presents his passport to the club and not the club to the player.

As El Independiente reports,  this development opens the door to the judge to consider Real Madrid as a “beneficiary entity” on the whole matter, something which may have dire consequences for the club.

If it is demonstrated that Real Madrid had knowledge of the process behind the creation of the false documents then there is a scenario where their 2014/2015 league and cup titles will be removed.
