Khimki Moscow defeated Zalgiris Kaunas on Day 2 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and coach Bartzokas admitted that despite the win, he wasn’t exactly pleased with his team’s performance.

“It was a complicated game, we knew that Zalgiris plays with energy, and puts pressure on the ball, but I think we had to manage to play better. We are happy about the victory, the second in the competition but personally I’m not happy with the game we played. We did not have patience and we should have read the game much better, “ he stated.

Moreover, the Greek coach commented on his new squad and the many summer acquisitions: “We are a completely new team, some of them like Robinson came some days ago and we need time to improve our team chemistry. We won finally the game, Zalgiris is not an easy team and we are happy to get the winning result. We need to buy time play with our weapons, hide our weaknesses to become a better team. Everyone is positive, congratulations to our players, our fans and we are now preparing for the game on Tuesday.”

Zalgiris coach Sarunas Jasikevicious discussed his team’s dysfunction on offense that increased their hosts’ scoring opportunities.

“Today the experience played an important role in the game. We are a young team and we made too many mistakes, many turnovers, gave cheap shots to the opponents and lost opportunities. Finally, we could not follow the game.”
