The Spanish giants started the season with 6 straight wins (4 in the Spanish League and 2 in the Euroleague but lost Ognjen Kuzmic (mostly liked done for the season) and Anthony Randolph (out for the 2 weeks) on their way.

“The injuries really screw up your plans as a manager because you can’t do anything. We had injuries before the preseason. In the case of Kuzmic, it is a serious injury that will have all season and Randolph will be out for two weeks, then we can assess it,” Pablo Laso said.

“We are now low on players, especially when we look to the inside play, but the key is that the team keep being strong. In terms of this, we have the wins to fall back on and our good training. We are hoping to cancel out the injuries with other players,” he added.

After the win against Russian powerhouse CSKA Moscow Real Madrid are facing another Euroleague team in the Liga Endesa as they are playing against Unicaja Malaga on Sunday.

“They won the Eurocup and are in the Euroleague this year, Unicaja has strengthened and managed to keep hold of those names that made them big. They have a solid point guard and an aggressive shooting guard. They’re an athletic side, good on the rebound, they have a lot of energy and can really open up play.”
