MPs asking the EU commission to help in the FIBA-EuroLeague dispute

As Lithuanian MP Antanas Guoga informed, nine MPs are asking from the European Commission to help the European basketball community by evaluating the dispute between FIBA and Euroleague.

As Lithuanian newspaper “Delfi” reports, 25 MEPs from nine EU Member countries and five political groups of the European Parliament are co-signing this letter.

According to the initiator of the letter, Antanas Guoga (Lithuania) to the European Commission, the dispute goes beyond the internal affairs: “Solution is needed immediately and it will play a vital role in promoting the sport of basketball, forming of national basketball identities and ensuring the competitive, beautiful basketball games for all the European countries”. As he states, a solution must be found because it will play a huge role in promoting the sport of basketball.
