Plaza’s comments about the game and the officiating are the following: “I’m proud of the way my guys did not give up and played until the end. Both teams won two quarters each, I think they (Zalgiris) played better defense in the second half. We need to be tougher and less lazy on our defense. On offense, we need to accept that the refs are not going to call every foul. There are some kind of teams, that are committing ten fouls and the refs are calling just one or two. We need to accept this because if the refs call every foul, some teams will end the game with three players on the court. The refs are calling a foul after four times of fouls. We cannot cry about that. If you watch the stats, you’ll see we have a better ranking than Zalgiris but we lost.”
Moreover, he stated how proud he is of his team: “We are competing against everyone, on the road, and at home. Not many teams are winning here in Kaunas and I’m proud of my team competing until the end.”
