Khimki Moscow Region keeps Unicaja far from the playoff spots after winning the game at the buzzer 68 – 66. Anthony Gill saved the day for the Russian team which improved to a 12 – 9 record.

Giorgos Bartzokas’ team only offensive solution was to shoot three-pointers during the entire game but Khimki fought every single offensive rebound after a miss and that’s how they won the game. With the scoreboard tied (66 – 66) and 8 seconds left Alexey Shved tried to win the game. He missed a well-defended triple but Anthony Gill appeared with a game-winner tip-in. Khimki hadn’t been in charge of the game since the second quarter.

The Russians grabbed 16 offensive rebounds while shot just 5-of-33 from downtown. Shved knew that the key to winning the game was to drive to the basket. Suddenly he forgot to make layups and he started shooting three-pointers. After scoring 17 points in the first half, Shved’s draught changed the game.

His colleagues awoke with the Russian on the bench and Khimki made it a tie-game with a lot of effort and hard work. Tyler Honeycutt led his team during the comeback and he finished with 11 points and 15 boards. Shved led all scorers with 22 points with 2-of-13 from beyond the arc.

Without Nemanja Nedovic, Adam Waczynski paced Unicaja with 16 points while James Agustine added 8 points and 8 boards.
