Zeljko Obradovic is punished by the Turkish league with one game suspension and a 30.000 TL fine – almost 10.000 euros – for his reaction against the referees in the game against Yesilgiresun and Fenerbahce reacted.

The Istanbul club issues a press release according to which: “This decision is a scandal. It’s not justified and it was announced before an important Euroleague game. Never before in his long career Zeljko Obradovic was punished, this is a first from our league and we consider this decision provocative.

The first referee of the game made many damaging decisions for our team and his body language told a lot. Nothing could change, however, after the buzzer beater of Bogdanovic. That’s why he reported lies, something that’s not surprising. We trust and support out coach 100%”.

A second press release on the matter is expected when Fenerbahce returns from Belgrade and the game against Crvena Zvezda.
