In what became a parody of a game in the last minute, AEK Athens defeated Aris Thessaloniki 89 – 84, making the 2-0 in the third-place series of the Greek Basketball League.

The match was transformed into a …. 3 X 3 (which became 3 vs 2 after Thodoris Zaras was called with a fifth foul) in the final seconds since all other players, had been suspended from the game.

Some tensions had already began to rise near the end of the first half, when Jerel Mc Neal of Aris was called with a second technical foul and was sent to the locker rooms, after being angered with a call by the refs. But the moment where things truly escalated was in the very last minutes.

Dusan Sakota and Nontas Papantoniou of AEK got involved in a brawl with Dominic Waters, of Aris. After watching the instant replay, the referees decided to eject these players, Okaro White, plus the coaching staff of both teams (!) and the bench players, since they all entered the court during the incident.
