By outscoring their opponents 33 – 14 in the fourth quarter of their first semifinals game Anadolu Efes, defeated Darussafaka Dogus 80 – 71 and made the 1-0 in the series.

Even though Darussafaka held the upper hand throughout most of the match, even leading 35 – 51, five minutes into the second half, Efes rallied to absolutely dominate the last period, averting the upset from happening and claiming victory.

Thomas Heurtel led the comeback charge for his teammates, scoring  14 out of his 16 points in the last eleven minutes of the game, while also dishing 6 assists and grabbing 4 rebounds. Cedi Osman added 11 points and 7 rebounds, plus a highly crucial three-point shot that made it 71 – 68, less than 3 minutes before the end of the match.

His team remained safe, since also Darussafaka felt really short near the end. Coach Mahmuti’s players scored only three points in the last four (!) minutes of the game, while receiving 17 by Efes. Scottie Wilbekin had 17 points and 5 assists for the guests.
