Spain versus France is one of the biggest games in Europe during the last decade and the two teams which will fight for a spot in the semifinal know each other pretty well.

That’s why when Jose Manuel Calderon was asked about his opponents, he was ready to joke: “We have to learn the names of their mothers and fathers. We know them pretty well and this is good for everyone. We are a better team (ed.note: compared to the results of the group phase) and we are ready for three finals. We are united, we are improving and we have lost two games by two and one point. We have achieved our first goal and we are happy to stay in Rio at least for two more days”.

Coach Sergio Scariolo added: “France is probably the strongest opponent that we could have in this tournament after the USA. We have met many times, we have the highest of respect for them, they are a great team”.
