Thanks to what can easily be described as a “perfect” offensive game, a truly unstoppable Olimpia Milano produced no less than 109 points against the 87 of Vanoli Cremona, to advance in the Final of the Italian Supercup.

The Italian League champs will face Avellino in the title game for the first trophy of the season.

The trio of Krunoslav Simon (18 points), Rakim Sanders (17 points) and Ricky Hickman (15 points) were the main perpetrators of the winner’s successful attacks, with Zoran Dragic (13 points, 5 rebounds) and Davide Pascolo (10 points, 7 rebounds) adding their own piece in their team’s highly effective structure.

Elston Turner (18 points) and Fabio Milan (14 points) stood out for Cremona.

Coach Repesa’s team was trailing 50 – 52 at halftime, but returned to the locker rooms being absolutely blazing. With a rain of 3-pointers they made a 18 – 2 partial score which became 27 – 9 at the end of the third quarter.

There was no turning back for the “Red Shoes” after that, since they had gained a lead of 15 points, 77 – 61. Especially since they didn’t turn off their engines, scoring 32 points in the fourth quarter. Way too hot for Cremona to handle.
