Brose Bamberg came so incredibly close to what would have been the indisputable upset of the week in Euroleague but Nicolo Melli missed in the last second shot vs Fenerbahce, which ultimately won 63 – 62.

Coach Andrea Trinchieri was pleased with the fact that the game was decided in the ultimate moments, but expressed the opinion that his team should have been able to reach that period ahead in the score.

“I believe that last possession was not a great execution. It’s not easy for us to play against the size of Fenerbahce but I believe we should have been better before. Because in the fourth quarter we came back and we had the chance to win it. Not many teams come here and have the last shot to win”

“We played…. OK. Maybe we should be a bit more arrogant. In some moments we should take a bit risk on offense. Fenerbahce is a great team, with great players, great coach, great arena. Everything is great. So we should be happy . It’s the first step of a marathon. We need to bounce back. To be better in some things regarding speed, spacing. And then.. try again.”

Here’s the rest of the quotes from the game.
