A lay-up by Lorenzo Williams with 4 seconds left gave Lietkabelis a 79 – 77 victory over Zalgiris Kaunas and forced the defending champs to their second defeat 21 games of the Lithuanian League regular season.

Lietkabelis, that was also responsible for Zalgiris‘ first loss, is still at a distance from the first place in the standings since their record improved to 16-5.

Before Williams scored the game-winning basket, Ben Magden (19 points, 4 rebounds) and Tadas Rinkunas (15 points) had carried the winning squad while Paulius Jankunas (14 points) and Lukas Lekavicius (14 points) paced Zalgiris.

The latter was also the one to tie the match 77 – 77 after being fouled on a three-pointer attempt yet his team fell “asleep” on defense in the next plays, allowing Williams to drive easily to the basket. Arturas Milaknis then took the downtown shot to possibly win the match but it was no good.
