Banvit needed 45 minutes of action to take down Petrol Olimpija 87:83.

The Turkish team was in control from the begging of the game. They wanted to show that they will not be careless and that they won’t allow any surprises as they won the Q1 26-14. In the middle of the second quarter, Banvit had an 18 point lead. It seemed like  the Turkish side would finish this game without problems but that’s not what the visitors were thinking.

The Slovenians were able to cut the lead to 4 (61-57) at the start of Q4 and after that, they walked side by side with Banvit.

With great energy in the fourth quarter, Olimpija took a 2 point lead just 2 seconds before the end 75:73.
Damian Kulig was fouled and hit both free throws sending the game to the overtime (75-75).

The key: Led by home fans, Banvit had more energy down the last stretch in overtime.

The star: Tony Taylor was the man of the night for the hosts as he finished game scoring 24 points. Angelo Caloiaro was Taylor’s right hand as he recorded 20 points and 9 rebounds.
For the losing side, Jordan Morgan scored 22 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.

Banvit now has a 1-1 record and Olimpija is winless with a 0-2.
