Ameican power forward was the MVP of the first Gameday as he had 29 points and 9 rebounds in the game against Sassari.

This week he was outstanding as well nailing 22 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and delivering 6 assists as Karsiyaka won the battle against Juventus 90-78.

“I think it’s is a great accomplishment to be named MVP in my first game in the Basketball Champions League. Coming into each game my goal is to do whatever my team needs from me in order for us to win”, Jones said to Eurohoops.

“Both games were close throughout the duration of the match from beginning to the end. I am glad I was able to perform at the level I did because it was necessary in order to close each game with a victory”.

Jarrod Jones spent a year in Italy before signing in Turkey and this experience helped him understand European basketball: “Italy was a great experience for me. Every game had outstanding fans with unbelievable energy. I think it was a major year for me in the development of my game and a stepping stone for my career”.

Turkey, Karsiyaka, and Basketball Champions League were the next big step for Jones and he is more than happy with the season start.

“I love the energy here in Turkey! We have a great coaching staff, young ambitious players, and remarkable fans who all have the same goal in mind. WINNING!” Said Jarrod. “I am very impressed with the quality of the teams and the format of the schedule in Basketball Champions League. It’s an amazing opportunity to be able to compete in this league.”

When it comes to the expectations for this season Jones was short and straight: “I came into the season knowing it was an opportunity to play on two new platforms Turkish BSL and the Basketball Champions League. I plan to help my team make the playoffs and go as far as possible in both Leagues”:

Next week Jarrod Jones and his team Pinar Karsiyaka will travel to Germany. They will meet Oldenburg their next opponent as they will try to remain unbeaten.
