PSAK (Greek Union of Professional Basketball Players) has sent a letter to FIBA where it describes the proposal made to EuroLeague as a step forward in the right direction.

FIBA’s plan includes certain modifications in the calendar of both EuroLeague and World Cup Qualifiers, suggesting EL’s Thursday/Friday games to be moved to Tuesday and all WC games to be played on Thursday.

As reported by Greek website Sport-Fm.gr, the Greek Players’ Union considers this proposal to be “realistic”. It is also pleased to see that a dialogue has begun between the two sides (FIBA & EuroLeague) in order to find the best possible solution for the benefit of the sport and athletes.

Giannis Kalampokis, president of the Union, is expected to participate in the meeting that FIBA will hold tomorrow (Thursday 5/10) in Geneva with representatives from six European basketball federations.

Earlier today, FIBA announced that it will proceed to move Friday’s games in the November and February Windows to Thursday, as per its proposal to EuroLeague.
