In a packed OAKA arena, Panathinaikos defeated CSKA Moscow in overtime for the 29th Round of the EuroLeague regular season. It can be easily considered as a huge victory since it has made the Greens heavy favorites to finish fourth in the standings and own home-court advantage in the quarterfinals.
“We just play united. We have found the chemistry we’ve been looking for throughout the season. We have become one on defense and offense,” Chris Singleton told Eurohoops.
The American forward/center, who finished the match with 11 points and 5 rebounds never lost faith for the fourth position goal. “I’ve expected that we could climb to the fourth spot. There were games that we could’ve won. We had some good margins, but also some four-minute blackcouts, for which I talk all the time, and our opponents beat us. But I think we’ve recovered from this at a great length. Our ‘dead periods’ are smaller.”
“14-1 at home is the best record in EuroLeague. You got to take advantage of it,” he added.
Is there a… lucky charm behind Panathinaikos‘ recent improvement? “We don’t need any luck. We have OAKA. We have 18.000 – 20.000 fans here. And a lot more elsewhere.”
