Lega A tipped off this week with some blowout wins and a couple of great games to watch and ended tonight with Pistoia’s win over Capo d’Orlando. Over the weekend on opening night, Trentino got the close win over Bologna; a historic team that came back this year to the first division. Olimpia Milano got the easy victory on the road against Vanoli Cremona with Andrew Goudelock scoring 16 points, as did the defending champions, Venezia with a blowout win on the road against Varese.
Sidigas Avellino got a great win in front of their home crowd against Reggio Emilia, while Torino and Sassari picked up wins against Brindisi and Cantu respectively. Jaime Smith of Cantu and Dominique Johnson of Venezia were the top-scorers of the opening week, with 22 points.
