Brescia almost saw its unscathed winning record getting its first stain tonight in Cantu but that wasn’t the case in the end.
With the score 83 – 80 for the hosts a 1-7 partial score gave Brescia the 83 – 88 victory and kept them the only perfect team in Lega A.
Marcus Landry scored a team-high 17 (including the points that made it 83 – 85 from 83 – 81) and grabbed 8 rebounds for the winning squad while Luca Vitali added 14 points and 7 assists. Veteran David moss contributed 11 points and 5 rebounds.
The superb offensive output of Randy Culpepper (25 points, 8 assists) didn’t cut it for Cantu that has now dropped to 4-5.
This match completed Roud 9 of the regular season. In the rest of the game, reigning champions Venezia fell to Avellino while Olimpia Milano narrowly escaped a tenacious Reggio Emilia on the road.
