Donatas Motiejunas discussed the arrival of DeMarcus Cousins to the New Orleans Pelicans, specifically when it comes to what changes it might bring to his own status in the team.

When asked if he talked to team representatives about the latter, he answered: “No. But my agent talked. It’s his job. He talked to the coaches and was told that my role won’t change much. Gaining experience, that’s what I hope for,”in an interview for Lithuanian website 15min.lt.

“It will be a very good help. I really believe that DeMarcus will help raising the team’s level even higher,” he added.

Motiejunas also revealed that he aims to join the Lithuanian national team in the upcoming Eurobasket. “I have much desire to play for the national team. Last year due to certain circumstances I was out but I hope that things will work out this year and I’ll be able to play with the national team.”
