Speaking to MatchTV coach Blatt revealed that he has not yet received his championship ring from the Cavs: “Still have not had time. It’s still in Cleveland. It’s not a problem. Sooner or later I will take it. I’m not worried”.

When he was asked, however, if he considers a return to the NBA, he seemed negative: “I do not need to pave my way to the NBA – I’ve been there. My team stands in the Euroleague and I get great pleasure from the fact that I am coaching here. I do not want to talk about the NBA because I have said enough. This chapter is finished”.

He also denied that Khimki Moscow offered him a contract last summer: “No one contacted me, neither then nor later. However,  I’m still not going anywhere. I also have a deal with Darussafaka for next season”. Blatt was cryptic about the future of the team both in EuroLeague and also about the fact that Dogus group is negotiating with Fenerbahce. When he was asked about the possibility of Darussafaka being out of the EuroLeague and a farm team of Fenerbahce, he replaued: “I am not sure. Don’t believe everything you read in the newspapers. I will say this: when we come to the bridge – and then we will cross it”.

Blatt was also asked to comment the situation of Timofey Mozgov with the Lakers, since he knows him pretty well from the Russian national team and Cleveland. Blatt’s reply was the following: “I will not comment on his situation, because I do not know the details. But I wish to Timofey the best and I will always be rooting for all of my former players in all the teams – whether it was the Russian national team, a European club or an NBA franchise. At the upcoming Eurobasket in Turkey I will also be rooting for Russia. They are in a pretty strong group with Serbia and Turkey”.
