After finishing the season with the Sacramento Kings, George Papagiannis is back in Athens, Greece. Tonight (18/4), he watched his former teammates in Panathinaikos up close in a crucial game against a player who…. quite possibly might share locker rooms with him next season.

The Greek big guy was present at OAKA arena for Game 1 of the EuroLeague playoff series between the Greens and Fenerbahce. Panathinaikos lost to the Turkish team with Kings stash Bogdan Bogdanovic having a tremendous career-night of 23 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks and 2 steals.

Kings GM Vlade Divac had already mentioned that they are interested in bringing Bogdanovic aboard next season and Papagiannis might know a thing or two about that: “As far as I know, he [Bogdanovic] will come to Sacramento this summer. At least that’s what people of the team say,” Papagiannis mentioned in an interview with Greek Sport FM radio.

Papagiannis also talked about the Greek national team. “If I’m healthy I’ll be in the Eurobasket with the Greek national team,Before the Eurobasket there’s the Summer League, however the team (Kings) have given their permission. If everything goes well and I don’t have any injuries, I’ll be in the Eurobasket.”
