The Minnesota Timberwolves initially owned the 7th pick of the Draft in which Lauri Markkanen was selected but the spot, and subsequently the player, got owned by the Chicago Bulls.

Finish forward/center Lauri Markkanen was the first European player to hear his named called by NBA commissioner Adam Silver with his rights being acquired by the Chicago Bulls after a trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

As Marc Stein of ESPN and Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical have reported, Markkanen’s name was involved in a trade that includes him, Zach LaVine and Kris Dunn that the Timberwolves are sending to the Bulls for no other than Jimmy Butler.

Markkanen is considered among the most offensively gifted big guys of his class with a versatile arsenal that spans an all corners of the court.
