Korkmaz beat Mykhailiuk in Eurobasket U20

Both Turkey and Ukraine couldn’t get what they wanted in the Eurobasket U20, but the final game of the tournament between them included a great duel between two NBA level talents.

In the classification game for the 9th spot of the final standings, Turkey beat Ukraine 85-82 behind 23 points, 7 assists, 6 steals and 4 rebounds by Sixers guard Furkan Korkmaz.

Korkmaz had also the help of Omer Yurtseven as the center of NC State scored also 23 points and finished the game with 15 rebounds. On the other side, Kansas’ Mykhailiuk scored 24 points, dished 9 assists and had 9 rebounds, but also 6 turnovers.

He finished the tournament as the top scorer averaging 20.4 points per game, while Korkmaz who missed the start of the event due to the Las Vegas Summer League, averaged 12.8 points per game in Eurobasket U20.
