If the wonders Giannis Antetokounmpo put on the floor during the Milwaukee BucksPortland Trail Blazers game, particularly in the final minute, don’t qualify as pure “MVP material”, then we don’t know what does.

Take note:

  • With the Bucks down 109 – 110 and 31 seconds remaining, he forces a turnover and wins the foul. Misses both free throws but that only makes him angrier.
  • He then snatches the ball from CJ McCollum.
  • Finishes above defensive play on the other end with a go-ahead dunk in transition.
  • Immediately afterward swats Jusuf Nurkic’s lay-up attempt.

All these immense, game-winning feats were the cherry on top of a magnificent, career-high 44-point performance that led the Bucks to a 113-110 victory over the Blazers.

Giannis also had eight rebounds, four assists, two steals, one block and only one turnover in the 39 minutes he spent on the floor.

For Portland, Nurkic finished with a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds, plus three steals and three blocks. CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard scored 26 points apiece.
