Enes Kanter came to MSG for the match against the Hawks on crutches. But that didn’t stop him from starting the game. And helping his team win.

On Sunday (9/12) night, Enes Kanter arrived at Madison Square Garden on crutches, following the hip injury he sustained in Saturday’s loss vs the Chicago Bulls.

He was still suffering from back and hip pains but that didn’t stop him from not only stepping on the floor but assuming his usual role as a starter.

“Let me tell you this: If we wanna make to make the playoffs, you need to make some sacrifices,” Kanter said post game.

The Turkish center finished the match with 8 points, 5 rebounds, one assist and steal in 18 minutes, helping the Knicks beat the Atlanta Hawks 111 – 107 and improve their record to 13-13.

“It was tough. I woke up having a hard time to even walk. I don’t know how I’m going to feel but we got the win. Came with the crutches, played the game and now I’m leaving with the crutches. You can’t be selfish if you’re thinking about the playoffs. You just come out there and play,” Kanter added.

“I’ve never seen anything like that,” an amazed Kristaps Porzingis said about his teammate. “He was able to play. He started the game. He’s unbelievable. He’s a warrior. He played tough and he gave us all we needed to get the win.”
