There are probably some “Wanted” signs in Tel Aviv with Glen Rice Jr.’s face on them.

With a performance reminiscent of his output in the Israeli Cup Final, Glen Rice Jr. once again “killed” Maccabi Tel Aviv 86 – 81 for Hapoel Holon, this time for Round 20 of the League.

Rice notched a team-high 29 PIR after scoring 23 points, grabbing 14 rebounds and forcing his opponents to foul him eight (!) times. Together with Tu Holloway (28 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists), he led Hapoel to a win that elevates them to the top spot in the standings with a 16 – 4 record.

Maccabi Tel Aviv fell in overtime despite the 23 points by Norris Cole, the 16 of John Dibartolomeo, and the double-double of DeAndre Kane (14 points, 10 rebounds).

The “Yellows” are now second in the table with 15 – 5 and will turn their attention in a crucial week in EuroLeague. Maccabi’s includes two matches (vs. Fenerbahce on the road and against Panathinaikos at home) that might prove decisive regarding the team’s future in the competition since they are tied with Baskonia at the 8th spot in the standings.
