It’s like the EuroBasket never finished for Klemen Prepelic….
The Slovenian guard was unstoppable, delivering 29 points (10/19 from the field) as Levallois Metropolitans defeated Elan/Chalon 79 – 77 on the road for the third Week of the French League.
Cyrille Eliezer-Vanerot (8 points) was the late hero for Levallois, hitting the game-winning lay-up with six seconds remaining after a slick pass by Gavin Ware (12 points, 7 rebounds).
Chalon’s top contributor Adam Smith (19 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists) missed from beyond the arc on the other end and the reigning champs stayed winless while Levallois improved its record to 2-1.
Louis Campbell also pitched in 9 points plus 7 assists for the winning squad that expects to see Boris Diaw reporting for duty in next week’s game against Limoges. Diaw’s presence should be an attraction, especially since Levallois plays at home.
