Heurtel leads Anadolu Efes past Fenerbahce to the Turkish Cup semis

With the French play-maker making buckets and dropping dimes beautifully, Efes outplayed Fenerbahce in the Turkish Cup second quarterfinal match.

Thomas Heurtel dropped a game-high 18 points while dishing out 6 assists as Anadolu Efes topped Fenerbahce 82 – 74 to advance in the semifinal vs Pinar Karsiyaka for the Turkish Cup tournament.

It was a balanced game until the halftime which closed with the two teams tied 39 – 39. Efes fired up its engines in the third quarter and got a double-digit lead thanks to consecutive downtown buckets by Cedi Osman (11 points, 7 rebounds).

Coach Perasovic‘s players capitalized on this advantage to remain safe and sound while their opponents looked unable to recover. Bryant Dunston went almost double-double (12 points, 9 rebounds) while Tyler Honeycutt and Derrick Brown added 11 points apiece.

For Fener, Ekpe Udoh had 14 points plus 8 rebounds, Bogdan Bogdanovic 12, 8 assists and 5 rebounds while Jan Vesely added 13. Kostas Sloukas finished with 10 points, 6 assists and 4 rebounds.
