After the game of Galatasaray against Fenerbahce both the club and coach Ergin Ataman turned against the Turkish basketball federation.

Darussafaka got the win and Galatasaray states that the re-sheduling of the game due to their opponents EuroLeague games was not done according to the BSL league rules.

According to the press release: “The Turkish Basketball Federation changed the date of the game because of the pressure coming from Darussafaka Dogus. The federation acted against its own rules and the scandal was finalized by the referees. David Blatt’s objections and even insulting words in English were met with gentle smiles and chat by them, while Turkey’s most successful coach Ergin Ataman were punished immediately and rudely.”

There was also a statement by Ataman himself: “Strange things are happening in the league. You can’t do that (ed.note: date change) to Galatasaray. We can’t digest such an act against the rules. That’s why we objected. Recently I have never encountered such a trio of referees. They didn’t call any technical or unsportmanslike fouls for Dacka. I haver never seen such an unfair situation. They should stop being fans of foreign coaches and treat everyone equally. The technical foul against me was the right call but there should have been a call for coach Blatt too. I don’t know why Dacka is treated with such privileges.”
