Tofas advanced to the Turkish Cup Semifinals as they defeated Sakarya Buyuksehir 80 – 78 in an exciting game. Sammy Mejia was nothing less than the hero for Tofas, finishing the game with 29 points (10 in the last 6 minutes), 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Tony Crocker added 15 points for the winners

Neither of the teams managed to take a big lead in the game which was close from wire to wire. Mejia held his team during the entire match but especially in the last minutes.

Sakarya was leading 74 – 75 with 33 seconds left when the Dominican American dropped a decisive three-pointer to put his team back in front. The losing side would have a three to win the game but Gian Clavell Lopez missed it at the buzzer. The Puerto Rican led Buyuksehir in scoring with 19.

Tofas will face the winner of the quarterfinal game between Besiktas and Banvit in the next round.
