Damian Kulig tied his season-high 23 points en route to leading Banvit to an 83 – 75 win over Besiktas and the 2-0 sweep in the Turkish League quarterfinal series.

Banvit advanced to the Top 4 for the first time since 2014. They will meet defending champion Fenerbahce in the best-of-five semifinal series.

DJ Strawberry scored 22 points and dished out five assists while Josh Adams added 14 points for Besiktas that failed to reclaim homecourt advantage and bring the series back to Istanbul.

The two teams were close 60- 55 at the beginning of the fourth period but Banvit soon built a double-digit lead and kept its opponents at a three-possession distance. With 80 seconds remaining Can Altitingk made it 83 – 70 from beyond the arc and the game was practically over.

Tony Taylor posted a double-double 17 points/10 assists for Banvit while Adonis Thomas scored 11 points. Gasper Vidmar had 10 points plus seven rebounds.

The Turkish league semifinals are now set and also include the clash between Anadolu Efes and Tofas Bursa.
