Dimitris Diamantidis, Thodoris Papaloukas, Kostas Tsartsaris, Michalis Kakiouzis, all members of the Greek National Team that won the EuroBasket 2005 and silver medal in the 2006 World Cup (including a victory vs Team USA) together with Nikos Pappas, will compete in the Finals of the Tournament together with organizer Dimitris Papanikolaou.
Iconic figures of the Greek Women’s National team like Evina Maltsi (member of the All-Tournament Squad in EuroBasket 2017), Artemis Spanou, Anthi Papailia and Katerina Spatharou will also be present.
Greek Basketball legend (the last coach to beat team USA) Panagiotis Giannakis will be a special guest after accepting the invitation of Dimitris Papanikolaou, the man who inspired the tournament and hostess Vassiliki Petridou. Giannakis will be for his contribution to Greek basketball.
The tournament began on the afternoon of July 7 and will be completed on the evening of Sunday July 9. That’s when you can watch the Final games and also the 3-point and skills competitions via the live streaming that starts at 18:00 (CET).
The tournament is organized by Airpap Action, the municipality of Ios, the Southern Aegean Region and is supported by Agalia Luxury Suites.
