With five players scoring in double figures, Zenit St. Petersburg had no problems whatsoever against winless Parma in VTB League, taking a 101 – 72 victory, its 17th in 20 games.

Even with Stefan Markovic out, coach Karasev’s players attacked the basket quite successfully, as is obvious by the final result. Janis Timma had 17 points, Ryan Toolson 16 same as Demonte Harper in the latter’s second game with the Zenit jersey.

Kyle Landry finished with 14 and Sergey Karasev had 11 while Ivan Belyunov (13 points, 6 rebounds) and Maxim Dybovskii (11 points) stood out for Parma.

Zenit is now the sole holder of the second spot in the table, having played one game more than third Khimki Moscow (16 – 3).

Earlier, VEF Riga improved its record to 9 – 9 and climbed to the sixth sport in the standings by beating Astana 73 – 62, behind 17 points plus 7 rebounds by veteran guard Janis Blums. Rob Lowery paced the Kazakhs, currently eighth at 9 – 11, with 16 points.
