CSKA Moscow faced no problems whatsoever against an Alexey Shved-less Khimki Moscow on the road and further cemented its hold on the top of the VTB League standings.

The VTB League derby of the Week proved to be a monologue for the defending champs. CSKA Moscow absolutely overpowered Khimki Moscow 92 – 70 on the road in a manner far easier than what the final margin shows.

Nando De Colo scored 18 points, Cory Higgins 14 and Kyle Hines 13 for the winning squad while Milos Teodosic dished 9 assists. Sergey Monya had 15, EJ Rowland 13 along with 6 rebounds plus 6 assists while Robbie Hummel added 13. But the hosts couldn’t hope for much without Alexey Shved. They are remain third in the standings with 16 – 4 record but got further than second Zenit (18-3).

With its best player sidelined, Khimki couldn’t compete against its opponents aggressiveness that sparked a 15 – 33 first quarter. CSKA kept being in total control and then with a third quarter outburst entered the final stretch ahead 44 – 75.

Coach Itoudis’ players didn’t sweat too much in the fourth quarter and improved its record to 19 – 2.
